Menu Bar

The menu bar contains the following items: 

Monitor

You can use the Monitor menu to adjust the monitoring process. The most common functions in this menu are for exporting and importing monitoring data.

The following options are available:

  • Refresh: Updates all information in the CrystalBridge® Monitoring Cockpit. This includes the list of monitored systems and servers, KPI charts, messages, alerts, etc.

  • Add new system: Displays a pop-up for adding a new system. For more information about adding a new system, see the chapter Adding a New System.

  • Start default monitoring: Starts the default monitoring for specific system types.

    NOTE Most default profiles are the same and will be started no matter the type of system, but there are exceptions. Profiles such as HDB profiles are only started if the system uses a HANA database, PI profiles are for PI systems, and ORA profiles are for systems with an Oracle database. These are specified by the monitoring areas of the system in question, which are automatically assigned when the system is added to the monitoring.
  • Download logs: Downloads logs from CrystalBridge® Monitoring.

  • Export coll. data: Exports only the transaction data collected by collector jobs, e.g. KPI values. 

  • Export mon. setup: Exports the customizing content, e.g. KPI definitions. 

  • Import coll. data: Imports only the exported transaction data. 

  • Import mon. setup: Imports the exported customizing content.

Edit

You can use the Edit menu to delete the entire system definition. To do so, click Delete system. For more information about system deletion, see the chapter Deleting Systems from the Monitoring Scope.

Settings 

You can use the Settings menu to access various views for the customizing setup.

The following options are available:

  • System settings: Allows you to maintain monitored systems and additional configuration parameters used in the monitoring. For more information about system settings, see the chapter Maintaining the System Settings.

  • Monitoring settings: Allows you to maintain KPIs, their association to the collectors, profiles, KPI groups and events. For more information about monitoring settings, see the chapter The Complete Process of Custom KPI Creation and Data Collection.

  • Collector settings: Allows you to maintain collectors and their parameter values. For more information about collector settings, see the chapter Collectors

  • User settings: Allows you to adjust the settings for displaying data in the cockpit at the user level. For more information about user settings, see the chapter Adjusting the User Display Settings.

Goto

You can use the Goto menu to navigate to useful functions within CrystalBridge® Monitoring

The following options are available:

  • BW Analysis:

    • BW Anl. Quick Setup: Schedules and executes the BW Analysis for a selected system. For more information about the BW Analysis setup, see the chapter Setting up the BW Analysis

    • BW Analysis wizard: Executes the wizard for BW Analysis setup. For more information about the BW Analysis wizard, see the chapter Wizard Setup of the BW Analysis.

    • Scoper: Redirects you to the data distribution analysis report. For more information about the scoper report, see the chapter Data Distribution Analysis

    • Query Runtime Detail: Redirects you to the query analysis report. For more information about the query runtime, see the chapter Query analysis.

  • Report Generator: Opens a new transaction for generating a summary report from the monitoring according to the selected KPIs or other areas such as system IDs, server names, profiles, etc. The generator works with a predefined template and allows you to use your own template as well. Note that you must create your own template in the W3 repository via transaction SMW0. You can compress the generated HTML output as a ZIP file and store it in the application server of the SAP system, on your local PC, or send it via e-mail.

  • Startup wizard: Executes theStartup Wizard wizard for CrystalBridge® Monitoring to configure the central SAP system.

  • Migrate custom KPIs: Executes the report to migrate custom KPIs from the central SAP system to another SAP system.

  • RFC destinations: Starts transaction SM59 to maintain RFC destination(s) on the system.

  • Job view: Starts transaction SM37 to display all background jobs.

  • Distribution list: Starts transaction SO23 to maintain the list of user e-mails, SAP usernames, private distribution list and shared distribution list for notifications of events and messages.

About

You can use the About menu to display important information about CrystalBridge® Monitoring

The following options are available:

  • License: Displays information about the currently installed license. 

  • Changelog: Displays a window with all the changes made to CrystalBridge® Monitoring in each release. 

  • User guide: Redirects you to the CrystalBridge® Monitoring User Guide.
